PHASE 1
PRELIMINARY STUDIES - TOWNSCAPE APPRAISAL & MINI URBAN INTERVENTION

In this assignment, each tutorial group must analyse the site through a Townscape Appraisal to understand its character, identity, and sense of place by studying physical, cultural, and social aspects at both macro (city) and micro (street) scales, and use these findings to inform sensitive design decisions. In addition, the group is required to propose a small-scale urban intervention at a selected micro-site in Brickfields that activates underutilised spaces, promotes social interaction, and enhances local identity through inclusive and sustainable design approaches that respond to the local community.

Reflection
During this project, our progress was slow, which caused me a lot of stress. However, having a clear idea of the urban appraisal before starting the analysis helped guide our work. I am grateful to my teammates, as many of them able to work independently on their assigned tasks, and this was the main reason we were able to complete the project.
